I. Get the following drivers and install in the given order.

I. To install Audio driver on CQ40-317TU please follow these steps

1. download CQ40-317TU audio driver OR SP39671_IDT High Definition Audio CODEC

2. Unzip the file to a folder then install Hotfix – kb888111 first ” \SP39671\HDAQFE\xpsp2\us\kb888111xpsp2.exe “

3. Now install the audio driver ” \SP39671\ setup.exe “

4. Do not reboot. Now you should be able to hear the audio. If not goto ” Device manager>System Devices>Microsoft UAA Bus Driver… > Right Click – Disable ” then Enable it again and follow steps 2 and 3.

5. After you hear the audio output proceed to next step, don’t reboot.

6. download “devcon” utility from microsoft.

7. Unzip ‘devcon.exe’ and copy the ‘ I386\DevCon.exe ‘ file to ‘ C:\Windows\system32 ‘

8. Start > RUN > cmd

9. In the prompt type (without quotes) ” devcon find pci* “

10. Scroll up and look for a line before ” Microsoft UAA Bus driver for High Defenision Audio” some thing like this “PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_055C&SUBSYS_30EA103C&REV_A1\3&2411E6FE&0&38: Microsoft UAA Bus
Driver for High Definition Audio”

11. Now copy the under lined part from your command prompt by “right clicking on the Title bar>Edit>Mark” and mark the line u need to copy (till the under lined part only) hit “Enter” to copy.

12. In the desktop create a text file called ‘ audio.txt ‘and paste it replacing the underlined characters as shown below with qoutes.

DEVCON.EXE RESTART “PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_293E&SUBSYS_3607103C&REV_03“

14. Save the file and rename it to ” audio.bat ” now copy it to ” C:\Documents and Settings\User\Start Menu\Programs\Startup “

15. Thats all now you will be able to hear audio every time you reboot.

Linux Networking Resources.

There are a number of places where you can find good information about Linux networking.
There are a wealth of Consultants available. A listing can be found at LinuxPorts Consultants Database
Alan Cox, the current maintainer of the Linux kernel networking code maintains a world wide web page that
contains highlights of current and new developments in linux Networking at: www.uk.linux.org.
Another good place is a book written by Olaf Kirch entitled the Network Administrators Guide. It
is a work of the Linux Documentation Project and you can read it interactively at Network Administrators
Guide HTML version or you can obtain it in various formats by ftp from the metalab.unc.edu LDP ftp
archive. Olaf’s book is quite comprehensive and provides a good high level overview of network
configuration under linux.
There is a newsgroup in the Linux news hierarchy dedicated to networking and related matters, it is:

There is a mailing list to which you can subscribe where you may ask questions relating to Linux networking.

On the various IRC networks there are often #linux channels on which people will be able to answer
questions on linux networking.
Please remember when reporting any problem to include as much relevant detail about the problem as you
can. Specifically you should specify the versions of software that you are using, especially the kernel version,
the version of tools such as pppd or dip and the exact nature of the problem you are experiencing. This means
taking note of the exact syntax of any error messages you receive and of any commands that you are issuing.

A brief history of Linux Networking Kernel Development.

Developing a brand new kernel implementation of the tcp/ip protocol stack that would perform as well as
existing implementations was not an easy task. The decision not to port one of the existing implementations
was made at a time when there was some uncertainty as to whether the existing implementations may become
encumbered by restrictive copyrights because of the court case put by U.S.L. and when there was a lot of
fresh enthusiasm for doing it differently and perhaps even better than had already been done.
The original volunteer to lead development of the kernel network code was Ross Biro
. Ross produced a simple and incomplete but mostly usable implementation set
of routines that were complemented by an ethernet driver for the WD−8003 network interface card. This was
enough to get many people testing and experimenting with the software and some people even managed to

CATATAN PENTING!:
Registry adalah penentu cara kerja OS Windows XP, oleh karenanya utak-atik registry berarti mengutak-atik cara kerja Windows XP anda.
Agar terhindar dari trouble, sebelum mengutak-atik Registry, ada baiknya melakukan backup terlebih dahulu.
Klik tombol Start > Run. Ketik regedit dan tekan Enter setelah berada didalam jendela Run.
Didalam Registry Editor, pilih menu File > Export.
Setelah Export Registry File muncul, masukkan nama file ke bagian File Name, misalnya backup-registry dan sebagainya. tekan tombol Save.

Mempercepat Update Registry
Tekan tombol Start > Log Off > Log Off.

Mengganti Wallpaper
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Desktop
Klik ganda pada wallpaper dan masukkan path gambar yang diinginkan pada Value Data.

Mengganti Nama Recycle Bin
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/CLSID/{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
Klik ganda pada option (Default value) dan beri nama baru sesuai yang diinginkan pada Value Data.

Tips menghilangkan icon tray di komputer

Anda tahu tidak letak icon tray di komputer anda,dan pernahkah anda berniat untuk menghilangkan atau tidak menampakkannya , ini dia cara nya:

• Masuk ke Run kemudian ketik Regedit, setelah itu carilah key berikut ini :
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Windows> CurrentVersion>Policies> Explorer.
• Kemudian, klik kanan pada jendela sebelah kanan, dan buatlah sebuah DWORD Value baru dengan nama NoTrayItemsDisplay, setelah itu cukup klik ganda Value tersebut, dan berilah nilai 1
• Setelah itu coba log off atau restart komputer anda , dan lihat hasilnya ?Bimsalabim…………..

Tips & trik mempercepat Komputer

Lakukan defragmentation
Kalau RAM anda dibawah 512M, tambahkan RAM Memori, paling tidak 512 M, supaya aktifitas swaping Harddisk berkurang
Pastikan harddisk anda diformat memakai NTFS. Mengeceknya gampang:
» Klik dobel My Computer, kemudian klik kanan drive C:
» pilih Properties, lihat di box, File Systemnya apa, FAT32 atau NTFS
» Kalau belum NTFS, cara konversinya gampang tidak usah reinstall ulang.
Caranya begini:
» Backup dulu data-data yang penting (untuk menghindari kalau terjadi kesalahan2)
» Klik Start, Run, ketik CMD
» Pada prompt ketikkan : CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS lalu tekan tombol ENTER
» Proses akan memakan waktu beberapa saat
» Sebelum melakukan ini pastikan komputer anda bebas dari Virus
